LA City Historical Society Lecture Series THE STORIES WE TELL: PUBLIC TELEVISION IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Join us Sunday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mark Taper Auditorium in the Central Library for a free screening of the award-winning documentary, Independent Lens' WON’T YOU BE MY NEIGHBOR (PG-13). For over thirty years, American children grew up watching Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood on PBS. Mister Rogers offered a calm and stable presence, tackling life's weightiest issues in a simple, direct way. Won't You Be My Neighbor reflects on Fred Rogers’ legacy of kindness, and the profound and lasting effect his innovative approach to television had on millions of children. 2:00 p.m.: Conversation with special guest, documentary producer Caryn Capotosto 2:30 p.m.: Won’t You Be My Neighbor film screening In honor of Mister Rogers, come wearing your favorite cardigan.
