West County Reads Pop-Up Bookstore Literacy Fundraiser

OPEN now through December 31, 2017 Sunday & Monday: 11-6pm Tuesday-Saturday: 10-8pm In collaboration with children’s books author, Tamara Shiloh, Deborah Day, owner of Ashay by the Bay, and Robin Wilson, Executive Director of West County READS, a multicultural children’s bookstore is opening in The Shops at Hilltop in Richmond. This is a literacy fundraiser that will benefit the West County READS programs. There will be an abundance of various types of children’s books for kids of all ages for purchase from Ashay by the Bay books. The store will also include Shiloh’s Just Imagine…What If There Were No Black People in the World? a children’s book series about African American inventors and scientists. West County READS is a volunteer community collaboration in West Contra Costa County, California.



We are comprised of individuals, and businesses, as well as public and private organizations. In collaboration with parents, schools, libraries, and community groups, we work to improve literacy outcomes for young children. West County READS was founded in 2001. West County READS was founded in 2001. The three ladies are very excited about having this opportunity to provide books for children from all cultures. The store will be open Monday through Sunday during the Shops at Hilltop hours until December 31st. This is also part of LBG’s (the developer) community outreach program to provide more family-oriented products and services to Richmond and the surrounding communities. Stop in and say hello to the ladies and enjoy the many books that will be available to children of all ages.
