If you are coming by yourself or if everyone in your party will be participating, we recommend that you bring a gym bag to store anything you won't be using during the race. Make sure you bring a hat and sunscreen. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? We recommend that you bring your phone with a copy of the registration confirmation left in your inbox. Do you offer postponements/transfers? Sorry, no. However, know that the money is going to support a good cause in your community.  Can I bring a stroller? Yes. But, please, when on the track, don’t use the inside just in case someone wants to pass you.
Can I bring my dog? Sorry, no. We love dogs, but our contract with TUSD does not allow participants to bring their dogs.  Can I bring my tent? You mean a tent to be set up in our TENT CITY? You bet. There will be a place to set up tents in order to get out of the sun or take a rest. Can I come late/leave early? Yes. Of course. The event is scheduled for 4 hours so that you have flexibility. You can come and go as you want. You can leave and return if you would like. Just have your ticket saved on our phone, just in case. Other questions If you have any other questions or concerns please contact us and we will get back to you within 24 hours. FAQs Fundraising Do I need to fundraise? With the exception of the prepaid tickets, all participants who are on the track must create a GoFundMe.com page and raise at least $1.
Yes, you can fund the $1 yourself. But, it is frowned upon. Bringing $1 to the event will not be accepted. You can see the donation page here. What about families? If attending as a family, each family member can set up a fundraising account or share one. Participants who fundraise $100 by 9/12 midnight will get a free t-shirt (one shirt per account). Where does the money go? All money raised as part of the fundraiser will stay in the Tucson area and go directly to Girls on the Run of Tucson. The money you raise will be used to fund scholarships for families who are not financially able to pay for their daughter to participate. Girls on the Run is a North American non-profit program that works to encourage pre-teen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games, culminating in a celebratory 5k run.
Who can I ask? We have found that family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers are very open to giving to non-profits they care about. You can either accept fixed amounts (prior to the event) or pledges. If there are pledges, you are expected to capture the amounts on a pledge worksheet which we will provide. You will be surprised how many people will sign up for a penny or a $1 per lap just to support you and your cause just by asking. What should I do with the pledge worksheet? You are expected to bring your pledge worksheet to the event and present it during registration. We encourage you to take a photo of it before the event and save it just in case. What about a tax receipt? Everyone who contributes through the GoFundMe.com will receive a receipt. What about checks? If you have a donor who wants to contribute by check, please ask them to make it our to Girls on the Run of Tucson. Ask them to mail it to: Tucson Medical Center/GOTR 5301 E Grant Rd Tucson, AZ 85712 Attn: Sylvia Brown Make sure that the check has your name in the memo field. What about cash? We cannot take cash. How will I know that I won a prize? Prizes will go to the top fundraisers. The winners will be announced on the website and by email on the Saturday following the event. You will have seven days to claim your prize should you win..
