The Ashes of Speciesism

Awakening an Ethical Revolution for Animals On May 24th, activists from around the world will gather to hold a mass memorial for the billions of animals who lose their lives each day due to negligence from world governments. We will honor and remember these individuals, while taking a bold stance in the progressive City of Berkeley after recently proposing ground-breaking new Know Your Rights Legislation, asking the Berkeley city government to recognize animal personhood and to legislate for a better world for all animals. WHERE: Crescent Lawn, Berkeley WHEN: May 24th, 2018 TIME: 8:30-11am WEAR: Funeral attire. Please email for questions ACCESSIBILITY: This event will include a short walk which will be done at a moderate pace. If you have questions or need support to attend this event, email

WHO: Everyone is welcome. This will be a peaceful demo that will have low legal risk. We encourage those who come to bring their friends and family. PARTICIPATING ORGS: --- Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) is a grassroots network of animal rights activists. Through open rescue, demonstration, and disruption, we are creating a world where every animal is safe, happy and free. DxE cultivates a welcoming and supportive community.
