Grand Teton National Park
SIGN UP NOW-I'm going to be taking with me up to 12 photographers on what is my personal favorite photo adventure. I have traveled most of this country and overseas and have found no place as incredible as The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Parks. I could lead this adventure every month for the rest of my life and never cover completely what these parks have to offer photographers...I'd be very happy though if I could do that:) The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone are located in far NW Wyoming, just outside Jackson Hole. We are going to have a blast lightpainting the historic Mormon Barns, shooting photos of buffalo, elk, osprey, moose and maybe some bears and wolves. Oh yes, the incredble majestic mountains, colorful volcanic pools. Ever seen Old Faithful lightpainted...other than my shot? We're going to do that together as well.
Geez, if it turns out to be as fun as I'm thinking it will be, I might add a day to this adventure so we can do more...we'll see:)
We will be basing this adventure at the historic Alpenhof Lodge in the Teton Village. The rooms are very comfortable. The food is excellent and the location offers us a great location for easily accessing the park. There is also some great shops located in the village.
Here is the schedule in general and subject to change... Day 1 -We all will meet for an early dinner. Afterwards, we will shoot a local working cowboy using a blend of lighting techniques.
Day 2 -After taking a nap from our Friday night shoot, we will convene for early Friday morning to shoot dawn/sunrise from one of my secret locations overlooking the Grand Teton Valley.
Afterwards we will find some cool wildlife to photograph. From there, everyone will be on thier own to free shoot until 1 pm. We will meet at "workshop central" for some key post production demonstrations. Afterwards, everyone is free to do what they wish until our evening shoot.
Day 3 -Photographers will be paired up to shoot a specific assignment in the park at deep dawn. Afterward all will be free to do what you want until lunch. After lunch, we will head to Yellowstone to photograph Grand Prismatic Spring and Old Faithfull.
Day 4 -After the morning shoot, we will enjoy a late breakfast together, followed by another post production demo and out final group show. The gathering will end with a question/answer session.
