Historian and writer Lynn Villency Cohen will give a visual presentation on “Art Collecting in the Gilded Age: The Taste of the Gentleman Collector.” During her talk, Cohen will answer these questions: What was the taste of the newly minted Gilded Age millionaire? How did they obtain paintings? What happened to the collections later on? The speaker will also touch upon the collectors of today’s “Second Gilded Age” to look at similarities and differences. Reservations are recommended as seating is limited. Cost to attend is $26 with advance reservation and $32.00 day of. Call to reserve at (413) 637-3206.
