The Northeastern State University President’s Leadership Class is hosting a Tahlequah’s Got Talent competition April 20 at 6 p.m. in the Webb Auditorium. This event is designed to raise funds for the Tahlequah Area Habitat for Humanity and the NSU President’s Leadership Scholarship Foundation. Anyone of any age from Oklahoma and Arkansas may participate. Groups and individuals will compete against each other. Contestants will have a time limit of four minutes to perform. A sound system and techinicians will be provided. Contestants are required to bring their own performance material (CD, phone or instrument). Lyrics and presentation must be acceptable in a family environment. Each performance will be judged on stage presence, artistic performance, audience response and musical/talent content.

There will be first, second and third place trophies as well as a first place prize of $125, second place prize of $75, and third place prize of $50. There will also be a crowd pleaser portion of the competition. Every contestant is encouraged to bring a decorated donation jar (with the performance group or individual name on it) for a chance to win the Crowd Pleaser Award. The jar with the most donations will win. Contestants are required to register in advance and pay a $25 non-refundable registration fee. Checks should be made out to Habitat for Humanity. The deadline to enter is April 18. Both registration forms and admission tickets are available at the Habitat office, 816 S. College Ave., or the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce, 123 E. Delaware St.
