United Way's Success By 6 invites you to a FREE workshop presented by Alabama Public Television. Location of workshop: United Way of Etowah County- 235 College Street Gadsden, AL (across from the public library) Date: October 17th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm You will need to register each person coming from your child care facility seperately. **This helps us to better know who is coming and to make sure that there are no duplicates. You will receive an email each time you register an attendee. If you do not get it, please check your junk email before registering that person again. The topic for the workshop will be: Turning Lemons into Lemonade: How Many Lemons Do You Need? The kitchen can be a fascinating place for children. While watching water boil, cutting up fruits and vegetables or observing bread rise, children are developing social-emotional, physical and cognitive skills. This training will encourage teachers to incorporate simple cooking activities with a focus on developing math skills.
With the help of PBS Kids resources, this training will provide participants with materials and hands-on activities to encourage children (and teachers) to measure, weigh and compare ingredients as they cook and taste various foods. Participants will recieve a certificate for the training. A boxed dinner will be served to all participants. (1 per person) This training can hold 40 people.
