Quail Ridge Books and Meredith College Friends of the Library are proud to host Shannon Messenger, author of the New York Times bestselling series: Keeper of the Lost Cities. Shannon will be presenting and signing the eighth book in her series, Legacy, at the Meredith College Jones Chapel on Thursday, November 21st, 2019 @ 6:00 p.m. She will be in-conversation with Kwame Mbalia, author of Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky. Get your tickets now. Below are some Frequently Asked Questions: Do I need to buy a ticket to attend the event with my child? Every attendee needs a ticket. Each GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET qualifies for ONE free PARENT COMPANION TICKET. Each free PARENT COMPANION TICKET must correspond to ONE distinct GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET. PARENT COMPANION TICKETS must correspond to GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS in a 1:1 ratio.

If two or more people would like to accompanying the child, they must purchase a second GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET, to be eligible to receive a second COMPANION TICKET. All GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS include a copy of Keeper of the Lost Cities: Legacy. Ticket Types: GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET / $24.11 Includes a copy of Keeper of the Lost Cities: Legacy, a presentation ticket, and a signing line ticket. This is a required ticket - all groups must include at least one GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET per each PARENT COMPANION TICKET. PARENT COMPANION TICKET / $0 Includes entry to the presentation and the signing line. This ticket is for adults accompanying children holding GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS. EACH PARENT COMPANION TICKET must correspond to ONE GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET to be valid.
Companion tickets must correspond to GENERAL ADMISSION tickets in a 1:1 ratio. Shannon will presign all copies of Legacy. You may join the signing line after the presenation to have Legacy personalized. You can pick up your book and signing line ticket on the day of the event at Will Call. More details to come. Will Shannon sign books at the event? Yes. Your ticket(s) include a signing line ticket. Shannon will personalize and sign copies of LEGACY that were included with the event tickets. Her other titles will be signed and available for purchase at the event. She will sign ONE (1) additional backlist title brought from home per GENERAL ADMISSION ticket.
Due to the large crowd size, Shannon will only sign books, no fan art, shirts, etc. Please note signing line details are subject to change. Will Kwame Mbalia also be signing books at the event? Kwame Mbalia will also be available to sign and personalize his book at the event. How can I buy Kwame Mbalia's book? Copies will be available for sale at the event. You are also welcome to pre-order the book here. May I take photos? Recording or livestreaming of Shannon’s presentation is not allowed. You may take candid photos or livestream during the signing line. However, because of the crowd size and time constraints, there will be no posed photos. If you'd like to take a picture with Shannon while she is signing your book, a QRB bookseller will be on hand to take the photo with your camera or phone.
How is the signing line organized? Presentation seats are general admission. Your signing line ticket has a letter on it. Letters are issued in the order in which your ticket was purchased, so it is to your advantage to order early. When we call your letter, you will line up to meet Shannon. When should I get there? Will Call details to come. How do I get there? For GPS or mapping apps use: 3800 Hillsborough StreetRaleigh, North Carolina 27609 What's the refund policy? You may request a refund through Eventbrite up to 7 days prior to the event. Is it okay if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends? We understand that sometimes schedules change and another adult may end up accompanying your child to your event. As long as each member of your party has a ticket with a valid QR code, the names do not need to match.
