Sacred Walking Sacred Reading
Sacred Walking Sacred Reading is a monthly offering of Wild Ground. We begin the day with a walk in the woods, giving attention to our breath, our steps, and the world around us. After walking, we'll engage in a practice of sacred reading using the pratice of lectio divina and the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke. This experience is for you if you are seeking:Contemplative time in natureResources for engaging with poetry or other sacred worksSpiritual engagement with kindred spiritsA day in an inspiring setting The walk will not be physically strenuous and is appropriate for all ages. Lindsey Mullen has a deep love for poetry and contemplative practice in nature, believing that words and woods soothe anxious souls like nothing else.
Lindsey is a birth doula, a creator of ritual, and a teacher of the enneagram. She lives at Wild Hydrangea Intentional Community, and has a Master of Divinity from Wake Forest University. Lydia Atkins has a contangious energy of movement, play and connecting physically with the Earth. She believes in the transformative experience of being in nature and using spoken & written word to reflect on what's happening in our inner and outer lives. Lydia is a nature based educator having worked most recently with the McDowell Farm School & FoodCorps North Carolina. She is a certified 200 hour yoga instructor and leads groups and individuals in movements and breath work practices suited to their abilities and energetic needs. .
