Saco River Canoe Paddle Tour
Please join us for the Saco River Canoe Paddle Tour. We have some great speakers lined up to talk about how they are conserving their areas of the Saco River Watershed. There is an optional reception after the paddle tour at Saco River Brewery where you can connect with your local brewer. Spots are limited to 13 people - first come first serve. If you are bringing and transporting your own boat (free), please contact Emily Greene at email@example.com by 3pm on August 31st so that she can get an accurate headcount for how many canoes will be needed for other attendees. Tour Details: Route From Walker’s Bridge to Lovewell Pond. Possible stop in between at Pleasant Pond (map available, contact Emily Greene). Put In We’ll be meeting at Saco Canoe and Kayak at 9am.
Carpool to Walker’s Bridge and put boats in shortly after. Walker’s Bridge is the only bridge over the Saco on Route 302 in Fryeburg. A dirt road descends sharply from Route 302 to the water’s edge. The put-in has a turn-around area, with parking a short distance away. Emily Greene will leave her car at Lovewell Landing in the morning so that she can carpool people back in the afternoon, but will need someone to follow her and drive her back in the morning to Saco River Canoe and Kayak. Take Out Lovewell Pond Landing at Fish and Game Road in Fryeburg, Maine is where we will be taking boats out. Carpool back to Walker’s Bridge and to Saco River Canoe and Kayak..
