In 2018, a statewide analysis of the most frequently billed hospital services revealed that Colorado's hospitals are being paid an average of 290% of Medicare for inpatient services (ranging from 240-330% by region) and an average 520% for outpatient services.  Subsequently, the Rand Corporation, with funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, conducted a multi-state analysis comparing data from Colorado's All-Payer Claims Data Base to others across the country.
