Perfectly Prepared: Meal Prepping for a Healthy Lifestyle

In this class, Megan Weathers will demonstrate how to prepare 2 meal-prep options using ground turkey - turkey meatballs with coconut curry and turkey lettuce wraps with peanut sauce. She will also demonstrate how to make an easy, allergen-free granola. Participants may volunteer to assist in various steps during the class. All participants will be provided with the recipes prepared during this class that they may take home. Food may be tasted during the class, but no food may go home with the participants. Category: Family  Format:  Combination of Instructor led and hands on Recommended age: 16+ (ages 12–16 must be accompanied by an adult with their own ticket) Skill level:  Beginner  Registration deadline: 6 p.m. on May 2, 2019 CLASS INFORMATION AND POLICIES ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR    Megan Weathers is a personal and private-party chef based in Manhattan, KS.

While attending culinary school Johnson and Wales University in Charlotte, NC, Megan spent her summers working in well-loved restaurants in Manhattan and the KC area. She is now a full-time student, studying Food Science at Kansas State University. She currently provides catering services and healthy prepared meals for families who have a special interest in personal nutrition. Her cooking style exemplifies midwestern favorites, southern flair, and global flavors. Good food doesn’t have to be fussy, but it does have to be tasty. TICKETS AND ADMISSION: No tickets are issued for classes.
Your name will be on an attendee list in The Kitchen. Admission to the kitchen will begin at the scheduled class start time. FORMAT: Class will be instructor led. During the hands-on classes, attendees will work in small groups for portions of recipe preparation. You will be standing or sitting at high-top tables and working for most of the class. ALLERGIES/SPECIAL NEEDS: The Lenexa Public Market and demo kitchen is not an allergy-safe environment. Common cooking and baking ingredients used in classes may not be specified in class/menu titles. Food allergies and/or special needs must be stated in detail on the registration form. Best efforts will be made to accommodate those allergies and needs when known in advance. Recipe adjustments cannot be made during classes.
REFUNDS: If you cannot attend a class for any reason, notify us at least three days before the scheduled class to request a refund of your registration fee or a transfer to another class. You are welcome to send someone in your place if you are unable to attend a class and the refund deadline has passed. Please let us know in advance so the registration list may be updated along with any allergy information. All classes are subject to rescheduling or cancellation (which would result in a full refund). Recipes and ingredients are subject to change based on availability. PARKING: Free parking is available on-site in a City of Lenexa parking garage. FOOD/DRINK: Featured recipes prepared in the class will be sampled. We will have a water station available in the kitchen.
Other beverages are available for purchase in the Market. EMERGENCY CONTACT: Emergency contact information must be provided on the registration form for all participants in kids/teens classes. Parents will be required to sign in/sign out minors. Additionally, parents must provide contact information for other individuals authorized for drop off or pick up. PERSONAL BELONGINGS: All equipment and ingredients for the class are provided. Coat racks will be available for jackets and purses. If perishable items purchased at the Market need to be refrigerated, please notify the class instructor or Market attendant when arriving for the class. PARTICIPANT EXPERIENCE: Please come to class prepared to have some fun and learn a few tips. Group interaction and socializing will be part of the classes, but please be respectful to instructors and fellow attendees to help ensure everyone has a great time..
