On the Table Chatt: Feeding the Valley Chat About Poverty

The poverty rate in Muscogee County is 21 %.   At Feeding the Valley Food Bank, we serve in a support role for many of our church and non-profit organizations in their mission to help individuals and families out of the circle of poverty through the various programs they offer. We are their food source for the various programs they offer to people in need.   Most of the people we all help are the “working poor.”  The majority of people in this sector want meaningful work and to earn a living wage.  Feeding the Valley will host 10 tables of conversation at our warehouse, 6744 Flat Rock Rd. at 5 p.m.  Light refreshments will be served. Each table will be led by a member of one of our partner agencies – churches or non-profit organizations to engage participants about an important poverty-related issue their organization sees in the clients they serve.  Some of the agencies participating are St.

Anne Community Outreach, Open Door Community House, RVRC, The Community Warriors, Home 4 Good, Girls Inc., and several others. Our intent is to give our partners and the common issues they experience every day with the clients they serve, exposure to the community and engage in conversations about possible solutions and ideas. NOTE: Your email address will be shared with the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley, Inc, for purposes of sharing the survey link, as well as future On the Table or Community Foundation related updates.
