This summer cultivate your capacity for attention, emotional balance, and compassion in and out of the classroom.   This 4-night residential retreat includes: ∗ daily periods of silent meditation practice ∗ one full day of silence ∗ mindful movement ∗ solitary reflection ∗ time in the natural world ∗ opportunities to share perspectives and experiences with other educators Prior experience with mindfulness practices is desirable. This program does not address bringing mindfulness practices to students.   Facilitators Rona Wilensky was principal and founder of New Vista High School in Boulder, Colorado from 1992-2009. Since 2014, Rona has been the Director of Mindfulness Programs at PassageWorks Institute. Rona began her personal meditation practice in 2005 and received her certificate as a Mindfulness Instructor from Naropa University in 2012.

She was a member of the Leadership Council of the Garrison Institute’s Initiative on Contemplative Teaching and Learning and is currently a Fellow of the Mind and Life Institute.   She has co-led three previous Summer Mindfulness Retreats for Educators. Lori Gustafson has been a dedicated educator with the Madison Metropolitan School District for over 30 years.  For the past several years, she has served as Mindfulness Coach and Positive Behavior Support coordinator at Madison’s Lincoln Elementary School. Additionally, Lori is an instructor of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction with the UW Health Mindfulness Program. Lori completed professional training in mindfulness instruction through the Center for Mindfulness at University of Massachusetts Medical Center as well as with the Center for Mindfulness at UC-San Diego.
 Mindfulness has been an integral support to Lori in professional and personal aspects of life since 2000.   Course Schedule and Details The schedule for the Summer 2019 Course is as follows: 4-nights starting July 28 – August 1, 2019 Course Fees: Double Occupancy: $225.00 (actual cost – $408) Single Occupancy: $475.00 (actual cost – $666) Donation: $50.00 or $75.00 (optional to support other educators to attend) Covers all costs including tuition, room, and board.  Accommodations at the Kern Lodge. This course is funded by a generous grant from the Hemera Foundation in Boulder, Colorado.  Please consider making a donation of either $50 or $75 to support other educators to attend the retreat. Course Credits: A certificate of completion will be awarded to all participants.  Two graduate credits through Colorado State University at an additional cost of $61.  Information on registering for CSU will be sent with your welcome letter to the course Cancellation Policy PassageWorks Institute reserves the right to cancel this course if there is insufficient enrollment.  You can help us avoid this situation by encouraging your colleagues to join you in taking the class.
