Military Employment Collaborative Series hosted by Goldwater Institute, Herozona, and Hiring Our Heroes, USCCF

Please join the Goldwater Institute, Herzona, and Hiring Our Heroes, USCCF for dinner and a discussion about Military Spouse Unemployment: The Never-Ending Recession Our country has undertaken significant efforts to empower veterans as they search for meaningful careers. That work has fueled unprecedented opportunities for transitioning service members, driving veteran unemployment to a record low of 2.7% in February 2019. That success, however, has not generated financial stability for military families. Why? Military spouses—often called the backbone of our military—have been left on the economic sidelines forcing families to live on a single income. Frequent moves, deployments, and remote duty locations have made it difficult for most military spouses to maintain and advance a career.

Hiring Our Heroes and HeroZona Foundaiton are working to remove barriers and empower military spouses as they look for careers in Arizona. Featuring A conversation with Eric Eversole, President, Hiring Our Heroes, USCCF and U.S. Navy veteran. A special panel featuring military spouses and issue experts on a variety of topics that impact our military spouses. Moderated by Elizabeth O’Brien, Senior Director, Military Spouse Program, Hiring Our Heroes, USCCF. Guest Speakers Jon Riches, Director of National Litigation at Goldwater Institute Colonel Wanda Wright, Arizona Department of Veteran Affairs Admiral Hal Pittman, Director of Veteran Engagement at Arizona Public Service Corporate & Private Sponsorships Available For additional details and to reserve a table, please contact Austin Jack at ajack@goldwaterinistitute.org.
