Mercy Health Student Heart Screenings - August 2019

Mercy Health Student Heart Screenings   The heart screenings might identify a pre-existing heart condition that could potentially increase a student's risk of complications during vigorous physical activity and/or athletic competition. Student Heart Screenings are a simple five-step process to determine each student's risk level. Your student's records will be reviewed by a cardiologist within a few days. Within 10 days, you will receive either a letter indicating if your student is at low risk for heart conditions or a request for a follow up visit with a physician. The FREE heart screening is completed in approximately 15 minutes and will consist of the following:   Station 1:   Check in Station 2:   Healthy Heart Check History Questionnaire review and blood pressure check Station 3:   12-lead EKG Station 4:   Physician review and exam Station 5:   Echocardiogram, if indicated   Heart screenings will be held at the Mercy Health Hackley Campus Youngberg Auditorium from 6:00-8:30 p.m.
