Making a Nuno Felt Scarf

In this class students will be introduced to the technique of nuno felting; a wet felting process that involves felting wool into silk or another natural fabric. Nuno felting is an extremely versatile medium that can be used to make accessories, wall hangings, vessels etc. Participants will design and make their own scarves and will leave with a beautiful piece of art-to-wear. Participants need to be able to stand for five hours. Bio: Judith Daniels is a felt maker living in Rockland, ME. After years of doing one form of art or another- painting, photography, weaving and oriental rug restoration, to name a few- she discovered the art of felt making. From the very first she felt at home in the medium and never ceases to be excited by the possibilities of what can be made with wool, silk, soap, water and a bit of elbow grease.

She has a degree in Arts and Crafts and their History from the University of California at Santa Cruz. .
