(Class and supply fees include discussion by instructor, recipes for all listed mixes, tasting in class of many of the mixes, instructions on use, and the decorated mixes listed below to give as holiday gifts. ) *Class held at Farmview Market Conference Room Boost your holiday gift-giving game with Lori Smith of Double L Ranch. Using easily available ingredients, Lori will guide you through the process of creating delicious dry-good mixes that will make perfect, cost-effective treats that will work beautifully as teacher gifts, hostess gifts, and Secret Santa swaps.
During class, you will taste and make a variety of mixes and take home small samples of each. You will get recipes and all the secrets Lori has learned through the years of creating mixes for sale through her business, Double L Ranch. In this make-a-mix GIFT EDITION class, you will make: 1 Dinner in a jar mix 1 Dessert in a jar mix 1 Bread Mix in a jar 1 Dip Mix 1 Hot Chocolate Mix All mixes will be decorated for gift giving. This class will require some hands-on work. *Register early. Classes have both minimum and maximum numbers, and classes may be cancelled or rescheduled due to low enrollment. ___________________________________________ Lori Smith (BIO) Lori Smith is a wife, mother of 5, and a farmer. She ran a catering business and a mobile food kitchen for over 10 years, and she currently operates a licensed bakery out of her home where she makes jams, jellies and assorted baked goods. She is certified in food safety management. Lori believes in the importance of the local “Farm to Table” movement which involves eating seasonal, local produce fresh from the field. The shorter the time from field to table equals more nutritious and better tasting food for everyone. Lori enjoys cooking and baking, and she loves the opportunity to teach others about good food.
