Make-A-Mix: Creating Pantry Staples with Lori Smith (PRE-REGISTRATION is required. ) Tuesday, October 15, 2019 5:15 - 6:30 PM Suitable for ages 16 and up $25 online via Eventbrite, pre-registration required $10 supply fee paid TO INSTRUCTOR the night of class-- exact cash/check only, please. (Class and supply fees include discussion by instructor, recipes for all listed mixes, tasting in class of many of the mixes, instructions on use, and a portion of all mixes to take home) *Class held at Farmview Market Conference Room Boost the dry-good magic in your pantry with Lori Smith of Double L Ranch. Using ingredients you know and recognize, Lori will guide you through the process of creating classic dry good mixes that are staples of most family's pantries. During class, you will taste and make a variety of mixes and take home small samples of each.

You will get recipes and all the secrets Lori has learned through the years of creating shortcuts for her kitchen while feeding her family healthy foods. In this make-a-mix class, you will make: 1. Cream of 'whatever' soup 2. Baking mix (like bisquick) 3. Herbed rice mix (like Rice A Roni) 4. Bread Mix 5. Ranch Dressing Mix 6. Taco Seasoning This class will require some hands-on work. *Register early. Classes have both minimum and maximum numbers, and classes may be cancelled or rescheduled due to low enrollment. ___________________________________________ Lori Smith (BIO) Lori Smith is a wife, mother of 5, and a farmer. She ran a catering business and a mobile food kitchen for over 10 years, and s​he currently operates a licensed bakery out of her home where she makes jams, jellies and assorted baked goods.
She is certified in food safety management. Lori believes in the importance of the local “Farm to Table” movement which involves eating seasonal, local produce fresh from the field. The shorter the time from field to table equals more nutritious and better tasting food for everyone. Lori enjoys cooking and baking, and she loves the opportunity to teach others about good food. .
