Lupus Foundation of America Charity Masquerade Gala
Join us in Birmingham to raise money for lupus research, increase knowledge of lupus and rally public support for the 86,000+ people living with lupus in Alabama, Kentucky and Tennessee. Lupus is a mysterious and misunderstood autoimmune disease. It strikes without warning, affects each person differently, and has no known causes or cure. Its symptoms can be severe and highly unpredictable and can damage any organ or tissue, from the skin or joints to the heart or kidneys. And, while lupus can strike anyone at any time, approximately 90% of people living with lupus are women; and women of color are at especially high risk. Gala attendees will participate in an evening of dinner and dancing with live musical performances by local artists and keynote addresses given by a Lupus Foundation representative, a surviving lupus warrior and a medical physician from the University of Alabama at Birmingham that specializes in treating lupus patients.
Attendees will also have opportunities to participate in raffle drawings throughout the night for gifts and/ or gift cards donated by local area businesses. The attire is masquerade formal. All proceeds will go to the Lupus Foundation of America, Mid-South Chapter. FAQs Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? You must be 21 years of age or older to attend.
