I Am My Brothers Keeper Scholarship Luncheon

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity was founded at Howard University in Washington, D.C. on January 9, 1914.The founders wanted to organize a Greek letter fraternity that would truly exemplify the ideals of brotherhood, scholarship, and service while viewing itself as “a part of” the general community rather than “apart from” the general community. Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Alpha Rho Sigma Chapter, in keeping with its commitment to President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper Initiative, started the  I Am My Brother’s Keeper College Scholarship. Through this award, the Fraternity hopes to help aid and address persistence issues impacting men of color in higher education. The fraternity will award a $500 scholarship to two college bound gentlemen of color who have demonstrated a commitment: to serving their community, developing their personal leadership skills and excelling in their academics.

To honor recipients, we will host the annual I Am My Brother's Keeper Scholarship Luncheon. We invite everyone to come out and celebrate with us and recognize the incredible accomplishments of the recipients and young students preparing to enter college. Tickets are $35 and proceeds will go toward our 501 (c) (3) Blue Light Education Fund. For more information, please email the chapter at: arhosig@gmail.com    .
