Humanities for Social Transformation Workshop

In this full-day workshop, participants will have the unique opportunity to address compelling social challenges by designing humanities teaching modules for non-humanities disciplines, as well as to pitch ideas for real-time feedback from an expert panel. The workshop is open to humanities graduate students from around the university as well as to recent graduates. Participation is free but registration is required. Because we expect the workshop to reach capacity, we encourage participants to sign up early to reserve their spot.   About the keynote speaker Teresa Mangum is a professor in the departments of Gender, Women's, and Sexuality Studies and English and director of the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies at the University of Iowa, she is currently launching a new Mellon project to design an interdisciplinary,“applied” PhD, “Humanities for the Public Good.”  See the full workshop schedule Interested in applying for the Humanities for Social Transformation Internship?  Participants who register for this event are eligible to apply for the Humanities for Social Transformation Internship, an intensive four-day professional development opportunity (May 21st - May 24th) organized by Connected Academics and the Humanities Lab.
