“How We Fight White Supremacy” Book Launch Party

Doors Open: 6:00 PM Program Starts: 7:15 PM Book Signing: 8:00 PM Event Ends: 9:00 PM HOW WE FIGHT WHITE SUPREMACY: A Field Guide to Black Resistance Join us for a reception, reading and book signing as we celebrate the release of the new book from Colorlines' Akiba Solomon and Kenrya Rankin. In the book, Solomon and Rankin present a powerful collection of essays, interviews, poetry, and other art. Kirkus Review called the book “a powerful anthology that might indeed fulfill the wish of the co-authors, that readers craft potent strategies to resist White supremacy.” And Booklist says it’s “a master class in contemporary Black culture and thought, crackling with anger, love and righteous energy.” With more than 60 leading activists, artists, writers and performers offering their experiences on fighting for freedom and justice, HOW WE FIGHT WHITE SUPREMACY features contributions from Tarana Burke, Alicia Garza, Harry and Gina Belafonte, Kiese Laymon, Damon Young, Darnell Moore, and Michael Arceneaux.

Sponsored by Race Forward, the event will include light hors d’oeuvres and beverages. Book contributor DJ Monday Blue will provide the sounds. The event is free and open to the public, but you must RSVP.* Books will be on sale at the reception, but if you can’t make it, you can pre-order your copy today.
