HOPE Grief Recovery Workshop

Suicide and Drug-Related deaths can leave an aftermath of overwhelming feelings in its wake.   The question of “why did they do it,” is often one that can never be completely answered. Grief is the normal and natural response to loss. But when it is caused by sudden and unexpected death, those that are left behind are often faced with the question of “why did they do it.”   There is an enormous amount of “unfinished business” in that relationship.  While attitudes have changed, many are still hesitant to share with others that this was the cause of death.  The fear of questions and comments cause grievers to suppress their emotions. This inability to comfortably share with others the emotional pain they carry further complicate the grieving process. Grievers find themselves thinking of… A future that will now be a vastly different future to what you imagined.

“Unfinished business” in that relationship Recovery as a way to forget or discount the value of the loved one.  The Grief Recovery Method is designed to provide a safe place and a guide to help grievers let go of the emotional pain associated with the loss of your loved one so you can remember the fond memories you have of them. The real testament of love is in sharing with others those things that made your loved one special, without it tearing you apart. CHILDCARE Provided. Facilitator:  Joy Gaertner, Certified Grief Recovery Specialist Through a grant from Holston Foundation, the Grief Recovery workshop is free of charge.  Limited space is available.  July 17 will serve both as an Introduction to The Grief Recovery Method and the 1st session of the 8-week workshop.    Register at:  Powellchurch.com .
