Hawaii Strong - Lasagna Feed Benefiting Brandon Gasper

Join us on Friday, January 12th for a lasagna feed and evening of fundraising for the treatment of 17 year old Brandon Gasper. This event that we are calling “Hawaii Strong,” will begin at 5PM with the Lasagna Feed. Lasagna dinner will be $12.99 and include a side of garlic bread and salad. All profits over our cost on the lasagna will be donated to Brandon Gaspers cancer treatment expenses. Brandon Gasper, who also happens to be the son of our front door girl Kendra Moss, was recently diagnosed with Stage 1 Pilocytic Astrocytoma. With a tumor growing on his brain, at the ripe age of 17 years old, Brandon had to immediately undergo major brain surgery on Wednesday, November 15th. Now that the surgery is complete Brandon will begin his chemotherapy soon. Brandon was given the nickname "Hawaii" by his Durham High School classmates because he spent most of his life in Hawaii as a child.

The reason for this being that Kendra and her husband John were active service members at our United States Marine Corps base in Hawaii. After Kendra and John's service concluded, they relocated their family back to Durham a few years ago. Since Brandon found out his medical condition, the students of Durham High School and it's local FFA Chapter have expressed an immense amount of support for Brandon. They've made #Hawaiistrong signs and flown them at their home football games...got the school together for a giant group picture with the poster, and even welcomed him back home after his surgery. Durham High School's activism has been extremely moving and inspirational so we of course had to get involved in the cause too. Especially being that we love Kendra very much as both a member of our staff, and part of our Tackle Box family.
So we invite you to please join us for dinner and a night of fundraising for “Hawaii's” treatment. The Tackle Box and Moss family would also like to formally thank both Symblance and Northern Traditionz who graciously offered to play the event for free. Thanks to their contribution, all of the door money collected that evening will also go to Kendra's family and towards Brandon's treatment expenses. This is a fundraiser that is very near and dear to our hearts and we hope you all can make it out on Friday, January 12th. Dinner will begin at 5PM and continue all night. We welcome families to attend before 9PM and have dinner in support of a great cause. As for our of-age (21+) customers, we welcome you to stay and enjoy 3-piece rock band Symblance who will open from 9PM-11PM and Classic Country Band Northern Traditionz from 11PM-1AM.
