Futureworks Shops AI Workshop for Hardware Startups

Are you a hardware startup seeking to incorporate artificial intelligence and machine learning into your technology stack?  Join us on Saturday, April 6th in Long Island City to learn new AI/ML tools and services to incorporate into your stack. Participants of this 6 hour workshop will come away with a broad overview of contemporary practices for implementing artificial intelligence in interactive experiences and data analysis. The workshop covers: Specific services and technologies to be covered include IBM Watson, TensorFlow, Keras and OpenPose. The workshop will also cover strategies to identify when tasks can be made more efficient with machine learning. By the end of this workshop, participant will be led through a demo of how to use sentiment analysis to predict general impressions of user reviews.

This workshop is intended for creatives and technologists who wish to explore and understand how AI might be useful for current or future projects. A mac laptop is required to follow along with workshop examples but not necessary if you wish to look on with the instructors. Schedule of Activities 12:00pm - 2:00pm : Overview of past projects, touching on how how AI was implemented. 2:00pm - 3:00pm : Lunch 3:00pm - 6:00pm : Hands on Keras demo with Q&A to follow About the Instructors  Angeline Meitzler is a software worker and visual artist working with paint and emerging technologies. She often develops projects involving web technology and artificially intelligent components for interactive installations in museum and gallery settings. Tommy Martinez is a New York City based sound artist and technologist.
His work takes the form of custom audio algorithms, compositions for guitar and software, and electronic systems design for museum and gallery exhibitions. As Director of Technology at Pioneer Works, he leads a creative electronic media residency and spearheads public programs that engage the community and public around tech and social issues. FAQs  What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Parking is slim. We would not recommend driving.
