FIRE EVACUATION RESPONSE LESSONS LEARNED FROM A REAL-WORLD NURSING HOME INCIDENT

This event is sponsored by the North Central Healthcare Coalition and is open to all NCHC members, partners, and others interested in healthcare emergency response. On November 16, 2017, at 10:42pm, a fire broke out on the patio at the Barclay Friends Senior Living Facility in West Chester, PA.  Mark Ross will share his account of what happened throughout the phases of the evacuation response and key takeaways for fire, EMS, unified command, long-term care facilities, hospitals, emergency management, and healthcare coalition support. In addition to the presentation, local response and healthcare partners will have the opportunity to discuss how the lessons learned can be applied to our local preparedness and response efforts. Funding for this activity was made possible (in part) by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
