Date:  Saturday, May 4, 2019Time:  8:00 am - Registration and Continental Breakfast - Presentations will begin at 8:30 am to 3:45 pmLocation:  Mayer Family Conference Room (G2), MossRehab, 60 Township Line Road, Elkins Park, PA 19027Click here to view the brochure with agendaPresentation overview: This is an introductory course for Speech Language Pathologists who are currently using Fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) to evaluate or treat dysphagia for adults.  Content is relevant to all levels of care including acute care, acute rehabilitation, subacute rehabilitation and outpatient services.  A review of the FEES procedure  and clinical decision making with experienced clinicians will be provided. Case based presentations will be used to describe the laryngeal exam, the findings and the clinical decisions regarding developing treatment plans based on the FEES study.

 The discussions will review common problems which occur during studies and trouble shooting for how to deal with them. Course Learning Objectives:  At the conclusion of the course participants should be able to: 1. Identify abnormality in a Laryngeal Exam. 2. Interpret findings in a FEES report. 3. Discuss common findings in FEES studies for specific patient populations 4. Describe how to apply findings from FEES study to determine a treatment plan. Target Audience:  Speech Language Pathologists who use FEES or FEES reports for evaluation and treatment design. A variety of  Fiberoptic Endoscopes will be discussed as part of the clinical cases and examples of scopes will be available for view. For cancellations from 2 to 7 days prior to the course, there is a 50% non-refundable administrative processing fee. For no shows or cancellations within one day of the course, there are no refunds.MossRehab will reimburse you the cost of the registration, if we have to cancel a course due to low enrollment, weather, or an emergency situation. We are not responsible for any other costs associated with attending a conference. If you are on the waiting list of a course and do not get in, we will not charge your credit card; if you paid by check we will send the check back to you. In the event that a course is rescheduled we will provide you the option of applying the tuition towards the rescheduled course in lieu of a full refund.
