Please choose a hike that will meet your needs/abilities.

During all of our hikes, we go at the pace of the slowest hiker. No one is left behind. We love to share our lived experiences with one another on the trail and hope to create a safer space for fat people and other people living in marginalized identities. We ask that anyone who joins our group events refrain from diet talk, body shaming or weight loss talk. We don't allow sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia or any other form of bigotry in our community. Hike Name: Pulpit Rock Description: A pleasant easy hike to a stunning Rocky Gorge located in the middle of the forest. Native Lands: Originally inhabited by the Pennacook tribe Mileage: 2.5 miles Elevation: 200 feet Trail Conditions: Some parts will be muddy due to this time of year. You can get to New Boston Road from Rt. 114 in Bedford, 0.7 miles north of Rt. 101. The parking area is 5.7 miles down the road, on the south side (slow down it's easy to miss). Meeting Point: Meet at the Kennard Trailhead Parking lot by the map kiosk.  Once you park it should be easy to see the map kiosk. Bathrooms: None Fees: None Land Acknowledgement: This hike takes place on the ancestral territories of the Pennacook People. Fat Girls Hiking acknowledges that our hikers may be guests, settlers & immigrants to this land. We recognize that outdoor recreation is rooted in colonialism and commit ourselves to undoing these dynamics while we’re on the trail. Tickets: Fat Girls Hiking group hikes have limited tickets available for the safety of all participants, including our hike leaders.
We have a limited amount of free tickets that are limited to 1 per person. We ask that if you are financial able to, consider making a donation to Fat Girls Hiking by purchasing a ticket to this hike. OR support the growth of FGH by donating to one of our accounts. All donations help us to sustain the Fat Girls Hiking community. Funds go toward travel expenses to create new Fat Girls Hiking chapters, to purchase hiking gear & equipment for community members and so we can offer scholarships (for events that do cost money). FGH founder, Summer, is currently working toward another On The Road trip to open more FGH chapters across North America.
