End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) Conference

The purpose of this 2-day course is to prepare nurses, APP's, PA's, chaplains, social workers, physical/occupational therapists and other healthcare providers to provide quality care for patients with advanced illness at the end-of-life. Cost: Free to all UTSW and Parkland Employees Parking: Free in visitors garage Course Includes: All course materials, Completion certificate and 14.0 CNE Hours. Course Objectives: At the end of this course participants will be able to describe the role of the nurse or other health care provider in: - Providing palliative care for patients with life limiting illnesses - Utilizing the principles of pain and symptom management for patients with advanced disease - Addressing ethical issues that occur at the end-of-life - Providing culturally sensitive care at the end-of-life and communication techniques that improve end-of-life care This activity provides 14 contact hour(s) of continuing nursing education UT Southwestern University Hospitals is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association Approver, an accredited approver with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation..
