Design Thinking Workshop May 2019 (CPSEM3)

The Drake University Center for Professional Studies is pleased to offer an interactive half-day workshop that will introduce participants to a unique and creative way to solve problems and grow new ideas through a process call Design Thinking. Participants will explore the background and evolution of design thinking and how it differs from other creative design approaches. The workshop will feature short exercises and/or case studies that will allow participants to practice the application of design thinking approaches to problems and opportunities.  Who will be facilitating? Timothy Johnson is Chief Accomplishment Officer of Carpe Factum, Inc., a project management and consulting company. Since 2000, Tim has served Drake University’s MBA program teaching classes in creativity, office politics, leadership, and project management.

He is the author of three books and contributes to numerous other publications and has managed numerous projects and programs for some of the region’s and the nation’s leading firms, including Wells Fargo, Kum & Go Convenience Stores, Harley-Davidson, and Teva Pharmaceuticals. A self-described “cubicle-sentenced court jester,” Timothy brings a fresh and valuable perspective to this important emerging topic.  When and Where? The half-day, four contact hour program meets from noon to 4pm in the Zimpleman Graduate and Professional Education Center, Aliber Hall/Room 108, Drake University Campus on Friday, May 31st. The cost is just $99 per participant and includes all workshop materials. .
