Chicago Scholars: 2019 New Mentor Open House

Thank you for your interest in being a Chicago Scholars Mentor. The Chicago Scholars Mentoring Program pairs our Scholars with adult Mentors from across the city of Chicago. Mentors serve as important guides to our first-generation and under-resourced youth as they tackle the college admissions process in their senior year of high school and the transition to their freshman year of college. The Mentoring Open House event will provide you information about our mentorship program, what it means to be a Chicago Scholars Mentor, and what the Mentor application process entails. You'll get to see our space, hear from some current Scholars, and have time to ask questions.  5:30- 5:45 pm - Check-in, get a tour of the space, network, and chat with the Chicago Scholars Mentoring Team 5:45-7:00 pm - Presentation to learn more about becoming a Mentor.

We'll likely end around 6:30 depending on the number of questions you have.  Following the open house, we invite you to complete our application to be a Mentor. This application will ask for your contact information, your educational background, why you want to become a Mentor, and also for your references. The process continues with an interview and a background check prior to training and being matched with students.  We would love to have you be a part of the team. If you have further questions visit or email Looking forward to meeting you.
