Book Talk - The Principal

THE PRINCIPAL'S LIST ESSENTIAL PRACTICES FOR ADMINISTRATIVE SUCCESS Within the professional career of many educators, some may consider or even pursue administrative positions.  After signing an administrative contract, there may be many unanswered questions.  For some, the initial picture may appear somewhat overwhelming with a need for practical solutions.  This book is to serve as a lifeline for current and  school administrators by providing practical next steps for the multiple roles in which they will serve.  It is also the author's hope that the reader will gain additional insight from the real-world examples as additional tools for their administrative toolbox.  ABOUT THE AUTHOR Over the past twenty-five years, Dr. Dennis worked as a Math Coordinator, Literacy teacher, Assistant Principal and Principal. During her tenure as an Executive Principal, she served as a "turnaround principal", for her district's lowest performing schools.  In each administrative assignment, academic gains exceeded state requirements. Dr.

Dennis was honored as Teacher of the Year, and with the Young Women of America Award.   Additionally, Dr. Dennis is nationally certified by the Center of Teacher Effectiveness Team as an educational coach, speaker, and trainer. Dr. Dennis is the CEO of Dr. Tonya Dennis Consulting (www.drtonyadennis.com) whose mission is to provide educators and organizations with leadership and academic solutions to improve the academic achievement of students.
