Blood Drive and Free Pet Adoptions

Alachua County Animal Services, along with Life South Community Blood Centers are offering free pet adoptions to those donating blood on Wednesday, December 13th from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Animal Services Headquarters (3400 NE 53rd Ave, Gainesville). Blood donors will receive a voucher which is good for a fee-waived adoption on any pet at Alachua County Animal Services. These vouchers are transferrable, and do not expire. Blood donors must be 17 or older, weigh 110 pounds or more and show ID. Pet adopters must be 18 or older and show ID with proof of current address. If there are already pets in the home, the potential adopter must show proof that owned animals are current on rabies. All dogs and cats available for adoption are examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to leaving Animal Services.

All blood types are needed. Please plan now to donate, save 2 lives and give a homeless pet in need a home for the holidays. For more information, contact Animal Services at 352-264-6870.
