Black Cinema House is proud to present the BCH Mixtape: Vol. 3, the third in an ongoing series of showcases that screen independent short films, comprising a variety of moving image-makers. Black Cinema House continues its mission to uplift Black cinema, as the BCH Mixtape series aims to champion an array of works by independent creatives, reflecting the breadth of Black perspective and imagination in cinema. Please join us after the screening for discussion centered on the artists, their featured works, the relevance of short films and themes family, memory, the past/present dichotomy, relationships and more. Rhonda Nunn's I Remember, tells the story of character Candice Moss, who can’t remember murdering her adopted father when she was 10 years old. Her sister, Ciara, secretly hires a counselor and, with help from her boyfriend, discovers the truth.



Angela Dugan’s Jermaine is features a father as he tries to raise and protect his family while attempting to avoid the life he left behind, during a summer in the South Side of Chicago. Katheryne Michelle Johnson's Daisy is a non- dialogue about a date gone wrong. It also features a restaurant scene, shot in a black owned restaurant, and music scored by a black producer. AuMar’s Plastic Symbiosis is an experimental work that contorts the femme body in real, imagined and simulated space.
