Atlas Obscura Society Los Angeles: Cretaceous Claremont: Dinosaurs & Paleontology

The Raymond M. Alf Museum of Paleontology is a unique science and education institution. Started in 1936 by Dr. Raymond M. Alf, the museum is the only accredited museum on a high school campus. Their mission is to educate students from The Webb Schools, an independent high school, and their community in paleontology and natural history. With fossil collections ranging from the late Cretaceous of Utah, to 15 million year old mammals found in our own backyards, the Alf Museum offers Atlas Obscura guests the chance to experience the history of life on our planet. Guided by Alf Museum paleontologists, attendees will venture through the Hall of Life and Hall of Footprints.  Then we go behind-the-scenes to look into the collections room and preparation labs. The tour will end in a fun photo-scavenger hunt to allow guests the chance to explore the museum before it opens to the public.
