An Evening with Ed Roberson (of the Mountain and Prairie Podcast)

Please join us at the Mountain Oyster Club on September 21st, 2019 Cocktail hour and the silent auction will begin at 5:30, with dinner to follow. Tickets are $75 per person. All are invited, and we hope you'll find a friend to bring. Early bird tickets ($75) will run through September 7th, and then tickets will increase to $80. Ticket sales close Sunday, September 15th.  Ed Roberson will speak that evening. Ed is a Colorado-based conservationist and host of the Mountain & Prairie Podcast. He is a Conservation Director at the Palmer Land Trust, an innovative and highly effective organization that protects Southern Colorado’s working agricultural lands, recreational open space, and stunning scenic vistas. Prior to Palmer, he spent his career in the business world, having worked extensively in ranch brokerage, commercial real estate, and finance.

His formal education also centered around business - he holds both a BA in economics and an MBA with a concentration in finance. It is his dream come true to be able to apply his professional and educational expertise to such an important cause as land and water conservation. His work is obviously focused on the land, and so are his hobbies. He pushes himself hard in mountain sports, having climbed Denali, Aconcagua, and many Colorado 14ers, and he enjoys (slowly but surely) running 50- and 100-mile ultramarathons through Colorado’s backcountry. He and his wife are keenly focused on instilling a love of and respect for the outdoors in their two young daughters, so most weekends are centered around family hikes and camping trips. Any downtime he has is spent reading, with an emphasis on nonfiction related to the history of the American West.
Ed featured AVCA's Community Outreach and Education Coordinator, Sarah King, and the Altar Valley Conservation Alliance on his podcast back in December 2017. Ed's conversations with many individuals throughout the American West give him unique insight into the landscape. The podcast has been recognized by well-known organizations that are respected in the West and beyond, including the Aspen Institute and High Country News. We hope you'll come hear his thoughts on conservation in the West. Learn more about Ed Roberson by clicking here. There will also be auction items in support of the Alliance. Please contact Sarah King with questions: sarah (at) altarvalleyconservation (dot) org..
