Learn more about some of the risks they took either in their career or every day at Amplitude. Join us for an evening of story sharing on risks, empowerment and learning over great food, drinks, and company with lightning talks given by women working in engineering, product, and marketing. Lightning Talks: Talk Topic: “A Product Mindset For a Better Leader” by Sandhya Hegde Sandhya Hedge’s career has spanned several roles from engineering to entrepreneurship to marketing. In this talk, hear what she learned about being a good product manager that helped her lead effectively and be a better person. Sandhya is the VP of Marketing at Amplitude, driving our strategy to help companies around the world build better products.

Talk Topic: “How Product and Infrastructure Analytics Influence Technical and Product Roadmaps” by Cathy Nam and Samantha Puth Software engineers Cathy Nam and Samantha Pluth will talk about how they’ve learned to leverage product and infrastructure analytics to influence technical and product roadmaps. She is currently part of the customer love pod where their mission is to identify bite-sized customer pain points and quickly build improvements. She’s been with Amplitude starting from December, 2017 and since then, she’s helped release a handful of new product extensions, including Taxonomy and Release Analysis. Prior to Amplitude, Sam has helped build and develop Lending Club’s UI organization, tooling, and infrastructure (also where she met Cathy. )When she’s not working, Sam likes to listen to podcasts, read books, and drag herself to multiple workouts. Cathy is a backend software engineer at Amplitude. She is part of Data Ingestion team, responsible for collecting and processing over 200 billion data points every month.
She has been focused on GDPR and data mutation related projects since she joined Amplitude last April 2018. Prior to Amplitude, she worked at Goldman Sachs building clearance and settlements systems and at Lending Club, building core services and auto lending platform. Cathy holds a degree in Computer Science from Columbia University and lives in San Francisco with her dog, Baba. Talk Topic: “Leadership Can Be a Scary Place” by Lisa Platt Great innovation comes from a strong sense of safety in the workplace. Women and people in underrepresented groups experience this as a barrier to innovation in many ways. After nearly 20 years of taking some successful (and less successful) risks in her career, Lisa Platt will share how she leverages her leadership roles to create safe places for people do their best work.
Lisa leads the product and marketing design teams at Amplitude where she focuses on creating positive, engaging customer experiences by bridging the gap between go-to-market and product.
