2019 Youth Fishing Tournament -East Canyon State Park
On April 6th 2019, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and East Canyon State Park are partnering to offer the 2nd Annual Youth Fishing Tournament. This is a youth trout tournament offering three age brackets: 5-9 years old, 10-14 years old, and 15-17 years old. This tournament is geared to provide an avenue for youth to showcase their abilities, and is conducive to all levels of fishing skills. Prizes include: Top three finishes for largest trout caught for each age bracket. Largest “unique” species (any species other than trout caught). REGISTRATION Registration is open until Friday April 5th at 5:00 PM. All participants must pre-register online. The tournament is free, but participants must pay the entrance fee of $15 to get into the state park RULES All fish will be weighed and measured.
If there is a tie on the length of the fish it will be decided on the weight. Fish turned into to be weighed and measured will count towards an individual’s daily bag limit. Individuals can check in only 4 trout, individuals daily bag limit. You can fish from a boat or the shore. Multiple participants can fish from the same boat. All individuals must possess a valid fishing license. Youth under the age of 12 do not need a fishing license. All rules of the 2019 Utah Fishing Guidebook must be followed. You must provide your own equipment and follow all state boating regulations. Poor sportsmanship, cheating, any type of foul play, or failure to comply with the rules will result in an immediate disqualification from the event. Reminder: Fish must be turned in no later than 2:00 PM in order to be processed for the tournament results.
