2019 Sutton Lecture: The Hidden Costs of Organizational Dishonesty

The University of Kansas School of Business presents the Walter S. Sutton Lecture Series featuring Jessica Li, associate professor of marketing and Jack and Shirley Howard Mid-Career Professor, who will discuss "The Hidden Costs of Organizational Dishonesty." Dr. Jessica Li is an interdisciplinary researcher whose work focuses on the social and motivational forces that shape consumer perception and decision-making. Before coming to the University of Kansas, she received her bachelor's degree from Cornell University and master's and doctoral degrees from Arizona State University. Her research examines questions like “Why do different segments of people have different reactions to ethical and unethical activities in the marketplace?,” "How do brand or firm attributes affect consumer decisions regarding loyalty, purchase behavior, and word of mouth?" and "What cues influence fundamental social judgments of marketers, non-profit and for-profit organizations?" Li has presented her work at leading academic conferences and her research has been published in top business journals and communicated through a variety of media outlets such as NPR, ABC News, and Yahoo News.

A short reception will follow the lecture. Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend University of Kansas sponsored events. If you require a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this event, please contact Kendyl Grender by Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, at kgrender@ku.edu or 785-864-7369..
