15th Annual Resource Roundup
You've been asking. And here it is. The 15th Annual Resource Roundup. The Roundup is scheduled to take place on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Property Conference Center in Casa Grande. The Resource Roundup is an "agency to agency" educational forum, intended to update attendees about the amazing resources available to help limited income individuals and families in Pinal County. The Resource Roundup has become a signature event due to the continuous support and interest from you, the participants, agencies, sponsors and exhibitors. It is our "Fiesta de Quince Anos". So come learn, network and celebrate with us. Many of you are on the frontlines everyday working with people who find themselves in desperate situations and need assistance. Those in attendance are encouraged and challenged to do the best job possible for those they serve. We will provide you with the latest information available on services and potential economic opportunities.
Mayor Jon Thompson, City of Coolidge will start the day off with a welcome that's sure to raise our spirits and set the day in motion. Tim Kanavel, Pinal County's Economic Development Program Manager has agreed to update us again this year on the new economic developments in Pinal County that will bring lots of jobs and will boost the economy. This year's event will take place in one general session to allow attendees the opportunity to hear from all the speakers. Scheduled speakers include Emily Verdugo, Partnership Specialist, Census 2020 who will present on the 2020 Census and how the federal agency is working with communities to assure that everyone is counted in the census next year. On the agenda will also be a speaker on the Opioid Crisis and what the average person or agency representative can do to combat the opioid epidemic. The speaker will be announced by May 13 as the opioid award to the Casa Grande Alliance Against Drugs was just made. Forty exhibitors will showcase services and offer valuable promotional and informational items. The cost to attend this event is $30 per person and includes a fabulous lunch, resource materials and a chance to win door prizes donated by the exhibitors. As in the past few years, attendees can have fun by dressing up to fit the theme. This year's "Fiesta " theme is sure to appeal to everyone. A formal costume contest will be held again this year.
