29th Annual Pumpkin Carve
The Auburn University Chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) is excited to be hosting its twenty-ninth annual Pumpkin Carve. Pumpkin Carve began as a studio project and has now turned into one of the most celebrated events within the School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture here at Auburn University. This year's event will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017. The AIAS invites all students within the University as well as alumni and community members to gather in the courtyard of Dudley Hall to carve pumpkins, eat food, and enjoy the day. Judges, invited from the local community and the college, will select the best pumpkins and award prizes donated from local businesses. All day events include a costume contest, refreshments, games and activities for children, and much more.
Many years ago, as an assignment in my design class @ Auburn, we all carved a pumpkin for Halloween. Everyone threw in .25 or .50 into the 'pot', and all voted on their favorite. I won about $6.50 and was rich. It was one of the highlights of my college years.
